Thanks, good one to combine with the Forest Track and go down/up the ladders. I remember the old disintegrating ones which were somewhat exciting to descend!

It is in the Newnes SF but not Lost City. To give you a "hand", it is NNW from Lost City and has a view worth worshiping.

Haven't been out that way for such a long time and I need to rectify that. I assume "hand" hints at Blackfellows Hand Trail/Cave/Rock etc.
I haven't been to it but I'll try Temple of Doom - such great names for features thereabouts :).

That's the one johnw. "Temple of Doom" or "Temples of Doom". Being state forest, Newnes and Ben Bullen are some of the very few places you can take your dog for a bushalk if you live in Sydney.

Eggs, it's good to have this wonderful image recurring for a while at the top of the page. You must have some fancy equipment to get this close to the Pound from the road. Well, much fancier than my ultra-basic camera, anyway. I'm planning on walking in from this end of the gorge next year, so I'm grateful for notes by you and mikethepike posted elsewhere.
