Millers bluff walk- lake river bridge destroyed

Postby slparker » Thu 22 Dec, 2016 6:44 pm

Went up Millers Bluff today. The bridge is out after last winters floods.
A ford has been constructed which I traversed easily today in my Subaru. I wouldn't take a sedan over it but it's stable with low water depth, at least at this time of year.
Other than that the details in the latest edition of the Abel's hold true.
It's a stunning walk especially on a clear day like we had today.

An update to this thread.
The bridge has been replaced. A friend and I went up Millers Bluff today and a brand new bridge has been constructed. The road is still good to drive up to the start of the walk as well.

Yep that's correct, you can drive as far as what the Abels book describes.

Yeah we had to get permission as per the description as well. I was actually told that he had had some issues with keys in the past and he was considering introducing a security deposit in case the keys were lost.

That's a shame. He let's hunters on his property as well as walkers. I wonder if the issue has been with shooters, walkers or both...

He seemed a good bloke when I spoke with him. I didn't want the key when I climbed Millers as I rode my mtn bike up. I just wanted approval to cross his land which he was more than happy to grant.
