Favourite Wilsons Prom hike?

Postby neil_fahey » Thu 22 Nov, 2018 8:39 pm

What's your absolute favourite Wilsons Prom hike and why? I don't care if it's a short hike, a day hike or an overnight/multi-day (or even give me one of each). What's the most spectacular you've done?

The Northern Prom circuit. It is a true wilderness. I Love Little Waterloo Beach but a mid week trip is the best time to go there.

North Prom circuit is probably my favourite. Refuge Cove and the little side bash down to Larkin Cove are probably my favourite areas in the South Prom. Little Drift is also a nice secluded spot to visit- only a couple of Km down Tidal River Rd after the main gate.

Thanks guys. Is the Northern Circuit as tough going as Parks Vic warns? Hadn't noticed Little Drift track before. That looks stunning, too.

The Big Drift is always worth a visit. The Northern Prom. circuit is not an easy walk like a trip to Sealers' cove is.

Yeah Little Drift is vastly overlooked, most people wouldn't know its there. Highly recommend it.

North Prom if you want a more adventurous walk, but beaches aren't as good as the south and you don't get the tall forests.

Classic Southern Prom circuit (Telegraph Saddle - Sealers - Refuge - Little Waterloo - Oberon - Tidal River) for relaxed beach times. My favourite way is to camp two nights at Refuge and/or Little Waterloo, skipping Sealers and Oberon.

Tongue Point is a nice short walk (with a swim at the little beach).

I've never walked Big or Little Drifts - good to have something new to check out next time!
