I visited the lakes in Sept/Oct '77. All the hippy travellers warned about a girl who'd been shot while swimming . There were only 2 Lonely Planet guides at this time.
They're exceptionally beautiful lakes with raised edges a bit like Pigsty Ponds. Day journey west of Kabul.
