This should be an easy one.

A fairly recent photo from the United States.
Just name the nearby mountain.

Down slope of Kīlauea, Island of Hawaii.

Given the activity I assume it could be Kīlauea?

Thanks. Much more volatile than when I visited it in 2015, although it was certainly belching steam/gas etc then.

Here is another fairly recent one from the USA:

Wailua R. on the eastern side appears to be the popular first choice for canoeing.

If not that one, then the north's Hanalei.

The first thing to try is restarting your phone. If that doesn't work, try a different browser.

Yes it is eggs, passed on the road from Tehran to Ankara driving through eastern Anatolia. It's alleged by some that there's a boat up there somewhere.
Actually a dormant volcano.

Thanks.

This is in New Zealand.
You could name the peak/area we were driving up to or the river.
The range on the horizon will help give a fix on it.
ZedNIGP7887.jpg
From the road to Mt Hutt - the River is the Rakaia River and the distant range is the old volcanic structures of the Banks Peninsula next to Christchurch.

Thanks Wobbly - Mt Hutt is correct - though we were blown off the road as we walked up before we could get to the snow at the ski fields.

The locals said that the wind can get so strong it can blow vehicles off the track.
I should add - the River is the Rakaia River and the distant range is the old volcanic structures of the Banks Peninsula next to Christchurch.

Close enough Vagrom. Virgin River (Mystery Canyon section) in Zion NP. A spectacular but crowded day walk- or over-nighter if you can get a permit.

That's the one MM.

I walked Jaca to Urdos about 50km's west of there, but never knew of this or Canigou or the Paleolithic cave history. The GR routes along the tops sound good and the Camino runs through the west.

I was interested to actually see tiny people in this shot. The gap is 100m high and 40 across. Fascinating history and myth about it too.

Wow much bigger than I thought - I didn't get a sense of the scale of the formation from far away. We had littlies with us at the time so couldn't make it up to have a closer look.....

I don't know NZ at all but when I see a scene like that, with a snow covered peak, does it pretty much point to South Island as the default?

Or could it just as easily be a North Island scene as well?
