Sunrise does create a problem, doesn't it? Somehow I missed that word. But it does rise somewhat SEish in the summer.

Doesn't match any shots I have from the Shelf, but that doesn't mean anything.

Definitely lots wife and weld. Might be from the ridge line above the pandani shelf enroute to the old Anne ascent.
Nothing to see here.

I reckon Tortoise is on the money. Here's my picture from Pandanni Shelf.

Lay down misere.

So Weld has a double pyramid top? It reminded me of Adamsons.

Yep. And the higher one is, of course, the further from the start.

We approached from Tahune, Ian Green leading. Terrible, terrible weather. Maria helped me pitch.
But we went to the summit anyway. Total clag.

Doing it the hard way. Most of us have the sense to use the old snig track along the valley. Lot of cutting grass at the start, and fallen timber everywhere, but still easier than your route.
You have done some very interesting walks.

Clag when I left camp at the tarn, cleared while up on top. Brocken Spectre and all up there; it was marvellous. That was when I fell in love with Jubilee - it looks wonderful from Weld and the walking there is every bit as good as it looks.

Then we came up the same way nnw: Tahune, gate key, lots of Gahnia then sharp left, steep climb and camped near lake/s (?). Oyster?
Peakbaggerpaul later led a group via Gallagher but we were slow so we bailed and enjoyed the Schnells area and a lovely camping tarn.

Getting to Gallagher was hard enough for me - can't imagine trying to get over to Weld from there.

Somewhere around Tasmanian Tramp #22 there's a weekend trip by some keen Hobart Club walkers going in that way.
This was I suppose the only entry before the Tahune Rd was opened. The Pedder road gave access about this time.

I was interested to read that Mt Anne was first climbed from the Yo-Yo. ( > Trampled Wilderness)

It's been over 24 hrs - reckon TC has been waylaid. I'm pretty sure we got there, anyway. I'm busy today, so anybody jump in to keep the game moving.

Tortoise may have handed over. Can someone help me out here?

This photo belongs to someone else and was taken some years ago - quite probably from this forum. I've noted a general location that may or not be right but i'm hoping that someone might know where it is, with a bit more detail.

Details with the photo noted a location (not March) and date of 13/6/14, probably the date I copied it, shortly after getting this phone. So far I haven't found it using our Search box. Is it one by Eggs?

Norts got it. It matches Eggs' Hydro hut tarn pic, with the same view of Cradle, and the same tree:

Excellent. Thanks norts & Tortoise. I look forward to finding the same spot some time down the track.
The tree looks a little older too.

Not sure where you got the photo from.
It can't be mine.
We went in 2016, and there was a winter report from 2012 that was inspiring - see http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=10339&hilit=mcrae

This is the closest shot I had to yours:

Thanks eggs. I think it's that the photo I posted above is comp.quality material and you're a regular in the comp's.

I forgot the hut's not at McRae itself. It's proximity to the OLT may actually help protect the area .

Wonder if that tree's in photo #3 of this blog ?

From the hill beside the Hydro hut, looking north over Commonwealth Ck and the Hartnett Rivulet?

I'd like to know what that knoll on the right is. Borrodaile Hill ? (460m)
