Not Utah but the range behind would be part of the Rockies

A bend in the river? Famed Pueblo habitations? ( but i'm thinking Navaho - further south i'm sure )
But that photo looks high, bleak and cold Himalayan, without the pointy bits.
vagrom wrote:Well Aspen is world famous, perhaps like the Cote d'Azur known as a sunny place for shady people. But that's in Colorado.
I feel a Eureka moment coming on. Only time will tell ...
vagrom wrote:Well you're close to Montana and in part of the Yellowstone complex. You don't appear to be in the Glacier NP as that's on the border with Canada. But the photo looks quite glacial.
You're in Wyoming and that must be where Yellowstone largely is. Yogi Bear comes from there and he and Booboo were always on the hunt for pic-a-nic baskets.
Now, back to earlier clues ... " I could probably almost make a cup of coffee just around the bend".
Gardiner River is all I was looking for, so you have it vagrom. No cycling on the trail I was on but there is another nearby where you could. I don't know about people being eaten and elephants but I did eat bison while there, those are pretty big and would try and get into a room given the opportunity. I wanted to do the Bunsen Peak hike but the trail was still buried under a couple of metres of snow.vagrom wrote:Cycling along the Gardiner River track?
Road closed for winter so pretty high up.
You could do the coffee on Bunsen Pk if the Springs were tepid.
The Chapel in Mammoth Hot Springs is for everytime someone's eaten by a bear? And nuptials.
You could've mentioned the elephant in the room.
Yes it was, wobblywobbly wrote:I reckon vagrom has it but want to know if the coffee clue was a reference to Boiling river?
Correct, it's actually a hot spring that feeds into the Gardiner River. Another interesting fact - If staying in Mammoth or camping nearby and you need to buy anything, it's worth the ~10 minute drive into Gardiner. No sales tax applies in Montana, so I paid 10 USD less for bear spray there than in Wyoming.vagrom wrote:It's yours Wobbly.
The interesting feature is the Boiling River that can only be swum in if you're around the bend where the heat's diluted by the Gardner River.
Located between Mammoth and Gardiner.
