Got me?

Looks sort of like you are on the western side, uppish stream. But it doesn’t look like your typical Aherns shot.

Russell’s needle?....maybe Mt Jellor?

Ok, cool. Takes me while to work out how to put a pic up. So in the interest of perpetual motion anyone can jump in before me.

That's possibly the easiest and quickest answer I've had. I really wanted the Narrows in Alligator Gorge but hey. You knew that anyway

Thanks Greg, I really just lucked on to that answer and confirmed with google.
My in-depth exploration of SA is still on the to do list.

NSW, hopefully easy:

Yes, it is Thirlmere Lakes Michael, but not an old photo. This was my most recent visit there, mid-winter 2016.
From memory this is alongside Lake Nerrigorang. I imagine there is little to no water in the lakes currently.

looks like a stretch of the Woronora, but the guard on the side has me beat
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars.

No, not Yurrunga. Way too far south.

Clue: Was good for trains, then used for potable water, now not used for potable, and is still considered catchment so no swimming.

No it isn't. I remember going swimming there when I was a kid. Dad would park the car on the hair pin on the Appin side and we would climb down to the water and have a paddle. No one cared in those days. Now the area is covered in catchment signs.
johnw wrote:Lake Woodford

Yes, it is Lake Woodford. Photo was taken from the dam wall, we were informed by the security patrol that we where on the wrong side of the catchment signs and had to move back to the road.

Over to you John.

Thanks Michael, I wondered how you were so close to the dam.

It's so awfully dry and fire everywhere, I'll stick with the water theme to reminisce better times. NSW:
