Well I didn't recognise the spot, but I didn't recognise a specific shade of yellow, and when I zoomed in, I was surprised to also recognise the distinctive hairstyle of the person wearing it, and a little google-fu later, I am going to say Yulludunida Crater....

Looks an amazing place!

Ha, well solved. Tom is a distinctive looking character!

Yes, Mt Kaputar National Park is an incredible area. Lots of exploration possible. Definitely somewhere I need to get back to.

I don't have anything good to post just now, plus it's probably time to get out of NSW for a bit - does anyone have something to post from QLD?

Thanks, I've only been to Josephine Falls below it but the coastline looked familiar.

Here's another one from QLD:

It might help if everyone went to the back of the boat.

Har, har. That be it peregrinator. Ships Stern circuit which traverses part of the Border Track. I can't remember which lookout as it's a longish 21 km day hike with a lot to see.
I remember we finished the last few kms in the dark by head torch. Looks like the whole Binna Burra section of the NP remains closed following the fires.
Please take the helm...

Sorry, we were becalmed for a while, now setting sail.

What is in view on the horizon and from where? Victoria.

I followed johnw's QLD photograph, but not with another from QLD. (Don't have any.) There is however a connection between that state's capital and my shot.

Can we narrow it down to somewhere in Brisbane Ranges NP?

You, we and my mate on the mizzen mast can all narrow it down to somewhere extremely close to that NP.

from the clue - are you on Mariners track?

And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars.

Cajun, it's not Mariners Track. But in an odd coincidence, the track I'm about twenty metres from has the same name as a well-known historical mariner who joined the navy before he was a teenager. As he came from a poor family, we probably know that biographical detail only because of his later fame.

I could restate "extremely close to that NP" as "I stepped across a barbed wire fence into a paddock to get an unobstructed view."

This is a hard one. Are you somewhere near Nelsons Track looking towards the You Yangs?

I thought it was an easy one, for Melbournians at least. Views of the You Yangs from the north, the east, and the south are a very frequent occurrence. Less so from the west, of course. If it hadn't been such a hazy day, a view including Port Phillip Bay might have made a solution more obvious.

Over to you, Horatio; no sorry, johnw.

Thanks peregrinator, not sure where the other Victorians have got to. Unfortunately my own Vic. experience is very limited and much further north.

NSW, but hopefully an easier one:

My hopes were dashed to revisit that walk while we were staying at Tuross mid-late January, just after the main bushfire crisis.
That area wasn't affected but, understandably, all NPs were closed.
