Not the T3 but you are quite close.

Correct Tim, where the Colo loops around south of Mt Townsend from memory.
We were on the way back from an overnight trip to Colo Meroo some years ago.

I haven't walked along there, but it looks like a great ridge.

Another one from NSW. Name the walking track / valley this stone arrangement is near.

OK, South Australia. Name the watercourse down below and/or the track running back up the distant ridge.

I could not place your shot, but could only think of that area as a possibility NNW.
Great photo by the way.

Lets stay in SA.
Name the hut in view.
Bonus if you can say something about where I am.

Yes - this is Yanyanna hut as seen from the Heysen Trail as it approaches - just north from Wilpena Pound.
Yet to get to Marshalls Hut.

Sorry, I forgot to respond to the last part of your proposal. It was the close proximity of both the Heysen and the Bunyeroo Road that clearly identified the spot. Now you've got me itching to get back to that area—haven't seen it since 2010.

Continuing with SA. This is from the base of which range?

There must be thousands of photographs of this range taken from a distance rather than at the base of the climb.

Big target crollsurf.
They stretch for hundreds of km and are made of of many smaller named ranges.

I've learnt being too specific in this game can be your undoing. But yeah, I guess saying the Flinders Ranges is akin to saying The Great Dividing Range in NSW. So a Range within the Flinders?

I actually don't have a book by the great man.
However the photo appears to be from the road and way too far north west to be considered near Mt Ide or the tail end of the
Red Range - so I guess you were just after the Elder Range as per the big guys at the back?

Yes, 'the big guys" looming up at the rear is correct. You've got to respect your Elders. Speaking of whom, I took a wild guess that you might have WtFR, such is your ongoing acquaintance with the Flinders. But could any white bloke know it better than CWB?

My shot is from pretty much due west of Ide. Four to five kilometres from the Moralana road. When I mentioned thousands of photographs from a distance, I was actually thinking of the two main roads north from Hawker.

McKinlay Bluff?

(I was opposite the northern end of the Red Range, but west of there at the start of an ascent on the Elder Range.)
