Thanks puredingo.

This one is in NSW. It's not in a NP, but there is a NP 7km away.

South of there. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people walk past nearby - but most of them are not coming to look at waterfalls.

Well done johnw for finding the anagram in the filename! It's Bronte Valley Falls in Sydney.

I have been to Bronte Beach dozens of times, but it was only a week ago I discovered the falls. There had been some rain showers on the day I took the photo, but the falls must have really been thundering yesterday with the heavy rain.

Thanks ribuck, but I'm not that clever. I did notice the file name early on, and wondered if it was an anagram, but didn't make sense of it at that point.
So I just did my usual google analysis plus six maps and found it that way. I only made the connection when you mentioned it .
Given tomorrow's forecast take care if going to have another look then. I think I'll be staying indoors.

Still NSW but not as close to the city:

It's not where Glenbrook Creek meets the Nepean, is it?

Yes It is ribuck. On this occasion we spent a few hours on a circuit rock hopping/wading down the gorge, along the Nepean, then back through bush tracks and streets.

Thanks johnw. I usually start at Glenbrook station and walk downstream, and either exit at Lapstone station, or walk through Leonay and look at some of the nice houses then exit at Emu Plains or even Penrith station. One time in Glenbrook Creek I touched a small tree and a snake dropped out right in front of my face.

This photo is in the NT.

Thanks ribuck, I found one to continue the break from NSW. Just name the body of water in QLD:

Thanks johnw, the coastal range looks similar along there, so hard to pick without a few hints or some local knowledge. Knowing who Chris (Skase) is is showing my age :D

Hi John, I was last there in the late seventies assisting with an industrial archaeology survey not far from your pictured location which I am fairly sure is a horizontal retort bench and associated smokestack at Joadja NSW. Regards, GregG.

100% correct Greg. A fascinating place, we were competing in a rogaine there some years ago.
I was frequently compelled to stop searching for checkpoints in the bush to take photos.
I believe access has become more restricted in recent times and you now need to book a tour to visit.

Pretty sure 1989 was a flood year. Not much to go on in the photo but the banks remind me of the upper Grose.
I'll start with the Grose River downstream from Pierces Pass.
