Getting colder Greg. A long way from Goodmans Ford.

wildwanderer wrote:Ford over wattamolla creek?.
Actually don't worry.. just saw that it's not in a NP.

That's actually the closest guess so far. A bit too far ESE but you're within 15 km of this spot.

Is it the causeway over the Woronora River at Menai aka The Needles? I haven't been there in forty years either.

Yes, correct Greg. Although I believe the ford was named The Pass of Sabugal by Major Thomas Mitchell c 1843.
The Needles (I think) refers to other features at the same location. Some history here:
https://localhistory.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/nodes/view/103798
Anyway it's an interesting gem for a stroll, tucked away in a very urban location these days. Over to you.

Thanks John, it's an interesting location, my grandfather had a farm nearby back in the 1930s/1940s, according to Mother it was only good for growing useless scrub and thistles, even the goats were skinny.
Next picture is an easy one, still in NSW, lots of clues for those who don't recognise it outright.

I can only imagine such a view encompassing Point Bonney in Wilpena Pound, all the way north through the Pound Wall with St Mary's and the Sawtooth then the Heysen Range past Hayward to Mt Faulkner over Parachilna Gorge must be from that lone sentinel, Patawarta Hill?

Eggs, your imagination happily corresponds with the reality. Including your identification of the photograph's location on the "hill".

I can only imagine that your photographic equipment would do more justice to the view than does my inexpensive little camera.
