Already sent hit number 1 an email, waiting on a response. There's also one in a Hobart bookshop, but it is $75.
Just seeing if anyone has one lying around that they don't want.
It was released in 1980 as a hardcover, then in 1989 as a softcover.

Got one, but it ain't for sale! They used to sell them at Kerrisons Corner as far as I can remember. Isn't CJ Binks related to Mary Binks? Former mayor of Devonport and founder of Gran's Van?

Husband and wife I believe. I phoned Chris this afternoon after consulting whitepages.com.au, he put me in touch with the Hobart bookstore.

I purchased my copy direct from Chris in Devonport a few years ago, as like you, I phoned him to ask about the book and he advised he still had a few copies. A fascinating read for anyone interested in walking in SW Tasmania. Have you heard about his other books? I have dropped hints to my family that I would like a copy of his latest book "Hills of the West Wind" published in January 2009. Here is some info:

I'm fairly sure I've seen that book for sale in Tasmania, but where? I assume it's out of print? It's a long shot but might be worth contacting the gift shop/bookshop at the West Coast Wilderness Railway in Queenstown. They had a very good selection of west-coast related books when I was there last August. Maybe that's where I saw it, but can't be sure. It's also remotely possible I've seen it up here, likely in one of the secondhand shops, so will keep an eye out. But I have definitely seen it somewhere.
