I should get you into roasting your own beans, as I do. Makes the world of difference.
70% Lindt goes great with a good solid meaty Shiraz...

Adam

You were able to garner a few more funds than me - I recently bought a rancilio silvia and a rocky grinder. Very happy with both. I just love the look of yours.

But I have th Groovy only ten minutes walk away if I miss a machine with a bit more oomph.

Coffee

I decided to start this topic so I don't derail too many other threads... And now to merge.

Edit - and as the merged topics were created first, they appear first...

Nothing wrong with Miss Silvia.
I'll get you roasting your own beans as well and you will never want to visit the groovy again. Apart from the ambience & outlook, of course.
Have you heard about the ability to add a PID to it?

If you look for an entry from a user called "rayzurhed", he is in Burnie - a friendly chap and truly enthusiastic.
This is him - http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1213341475/16#16
He has the PID'd Silvia.

Many more topics on Silvia here - http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?board=BrewMid
Cheers!

Are there always more toys that you can have??

The Silvia is working well, I am still toying with grind and tamping to get some consistancy. But, hey, something with lights and numbers could only make it better.

What sort of roaster are you using?

Daryl

PS I do like the conviviality of the Groovy, it is not just the coffee

Yes.

A bread machine, a heatgun, and a fan.
It's easier than you think, and SO worth it when you taste fresh coffee.

You need to come & see.

I helped out with the processing/printing or the photographer who has his work on display in Groovy...some damn nice shots there if anyone is in the neighborhood. I was tempted to nab one for myself actually.

Sorry for derail....its my speciality
