I wrote "trail" where I would normally write"track". There is a reason for making that choice in this case.

You need to be patient. All the games are slowing up.
I have a shot from further in along the road to Black Gap - so you might be on the Heysen Trail near Mt Ide.
The biggest peak at back is the double headed Pompey Pillar which I was privileged to bivouac on back about 1981.

No surprise, eggs. You've got it. I was near the Umberatana ruins, not far from Mt Ide.

Page 64, Walking the Flinders Ranges, that wonderful book by C Warren Bonython, has a shot from Mt Ide which closely resembles what is in mine. L to R, Beatrice Hill, Pompeys Pillar, Dorothys Peak, Harolds Hill. I'm sure the indigenous names would not be so banal.

Is a google image search against the rules/spirit? anyway I did one, and it turned up viewtopic.php?f=22&t=10702, where that picture was described as 'Second Falls at Morialta'. Looks like a gorgeous spot.

That's fine.
And yes - it is the 2nd falls at Morialta with a reasonable flow. And it was my shot too...

Yes, it's a tree, and it's close to a popular walk. The tree and the walk are both in Tasmania.

Walls of Jerusalem track, maybe at/near Pool of Bethesda? Or the more I look at it, could be Solomons Jewels.

As far as I can recall, the trees approaching and at most of the WOJ are not that big. Dixons Kingdom has big trees. You are in the right general part of the state.

Reminds me of the south end of Lk Adelaide although it's been many years since I was last there so could be well off the mark?

No and no. West of Adelaide, although not on the same latitude - maybe.

It doesn't look like what I remember of Bill, so I'm going to start with one I haven't been to - Louisa. But if that's not it, then could it be at Lake Bill?

No. Try west of the WOJ region, including all the big lakes. West of Payanna, Ling Roth, Meston and Adelaide. South of the Deloraine latitude.

The planes about to leave... but the only place this reminds me of is Petrarch.
I did not see a tree like this on the wonderful grassy platforms though. How old is the photo?
If it is right, anyone can post.
