Lovely Spot - KI is very close - just hidden by an incoming rain front.

I can just make it out. During recent North American trip we had dinner with a South Aussie lady who is doing much of the Heysen in segments, as long day trips.
I don't know how practical that is, it seemed to be a long term project, but she was very keen.

An easy one from QLD (I hope). Name all three major features, bonus point for the peak I'm standing on:

Looks like the Glasshouse Mountains.

Are you on the Mount Ngungun summit looking at Mt Tibrogargan and Mt Tibberoowuccum?

That's correct, with Mt Beerburrum between/behind Tibrogargan and Tibberoowuccum.
I can just about make out Mt Tunbubudla (The Twins) behind Mt Tibberoowuccum.
Over to you beardless.

I have only seen the Glasshouse Mountains from the highway but they looked impressive the way they abruptly rise from the surrounds. Hope to hike there one day.

I am from SA and so is this. Where is it?

Until the police solve the mystery of wobblys disappearance I'll step up to the plate.
NSW. What very short walk was I doing last week instead of summiting the mountain in the picture

Well I seem to invoked nil interest- so broad hint time, I'd just finished walking the Light to light walk and after seeing the weather report opted to have a coffee and bacon and egg roll in nearby Eden.

Cheers

Indeed it is, but my question was What very short walk was I doing last week instead of summiting the mountain in the picture

Mt Imlay was being hailed on in a massive stormfront as I took this picture- how do I know? because we left for Cann River straight after I took the picture and had to drive through it (not fun)

So another hint to get this out of the way. The walk is currently only a few Kms long but plans are afoot to make it go all the way to Kosi.

Anybody seen wobbly???

Indeed it is the Bundian Way. Only a 4 km return walk but splendid views across Twofold Bay.

Over to Peringrinator.

There are only very limited views from Mt Imlay, but the walk is otherwise enjoyable. I am hoping (as, of course, is John Blay) that the Bundian Way eventually becomes a long-distance track rather than a brief stroll.

What is the name of this peak I'm climbing in SA?

Assuming it is special - would it be a "Hill"?

I'd say that it's not not as "special" as the "Hill" you are referring to. I.e. the one immortalised by a painter who has in turn been honoured by having his name adopted for SA's long distance walking route. There is a clue in that previous sentence, even though the peak in question is north of the end of that route.

We had fun coming off Mt McKinley via Pine Saddle.
Quite delightful actually until we started to climb up Octopus Hill. The scrub did not look too bad - but really was quite tangled and difficult to get through.
And it was coming off Octopus Hill heading down the northern ridge that we almost came to grief with sliding boulders.
The story is part of the trip report..

I read that some time ago, but forgot that the route included Octopus. What I won't forget is your photograph coming down off McKinley, where you say: 'This is a shot at a point where it [the scree] got a bit better.' Looks pretty horrible to me, with the loads you were carrying.

Anyway back to the Game, where I have managed to paint myself into a corner. McKinley, Gammon Plateau and so on are visible on the horizon from my photograph's location. That now adds up to four clues.

That's it, in the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. I thought those small cliffs on the western side would identify it.
