Saw very little from Braddon's Lookout. :?

See there is a video taken from Ulverstone on the ABC story, Wonder what time that was?

I could see it through my kitchen window in Lindisfarne. Pretty special! Trundled off to the beach after food was consumed....so cool...

I still haven't had time to process many from the 28th. I couple from Goat's Bluff:

Don't look too hard at this one. I think I bumped the camera.

A bit later as the upper arc stretched from almost due east to west. This was when the G3 conditions were happening.

And one from the beach.

Yes definitely. It varies person to person, but I have only ever seen very faint green tinge in some very strong aurora's with my eyes. You do tend to see the green colours as quite bright white light though, compared to the reds and other hues which are harder to pick up at all without the camera with a long exposure.

Maybe an Aurora about tonight
From the Examiner

http://www.examiner.com.au/story/495601 ... t/?cs=2596

Green and red hues could be spotted throughout Tasmanian skies on Friday night.

The Bureau of Meterology said the Aurora Australis may be visible from Tasmania and the southern coast of mainland Australia because of a high-speed solar wind stream.

Missed it again

According to the Bureau of Meteorology space weather service auroras may be visible again on Saturday night, with geomagnetic activity expected.

A couple of fantastic photos of Cradle from Mark Walsh & Kyle Rogers. Well done guys.

Partner ventured down to the beach at 3am, nothing, moon too bright in any case.

We both went back at 5am (moonset) but didn't see anything. Plenty of other hopeful folks out & about !
