Great movie... That one box that he didn't open on the island, and at the end of the movie he returns it to the sender with a note claiming it saved his life.
My wife pointed out the movie could have been a lot shorter if he opened it and it contained an EPIRB...
Amuses me anyhow.

That was always the point I thought. The one package that could have saved him, and he chose not to open it.

It was a good movie. I really liked Wilson - had a gift for bringing out the emotions!

It could have been a gimp mask which would have made the movie a lot more amusing

Castintensive.

One man on an island. Cast of sixty one. And I thought Wilson was a coconut. Must have made an (deflated) impression

I thought 'Life of Pi' was a nice if superficial movie. He didnt 'got save' me gadgets neither.

I read Life of Pi a while ago and was dubious when I heard they'd made a movie
I was pleasantly surprised
Another very good Indian/Canadian book is 'Tales of Firozsha Baag' by Rohinton Mistry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohinton_MistryAnd another Indian one about a twin brother and his sister, who, as children in the 1970's (?) lived in a family factory in a village by a river, and their mother had an affair with a worker. It has a boat they took across the river and a visiting cousin drowned, and the lover was wrongly accused. Really good atmospheric story. i'm getting annoyed I can't recall it's name.

Great movie!
No matter how may times I watch it I have to close my eyes when he takes his tooth out.
I have a Wilson but called Winston and he's a toy dog who rides on my trekking cart. Yes, I talk to him. He also makes a good pillow

Castaway inspired me to learn how to actually make fire. Without flint and steel its really quite hard!
