1m is enough for a Scarp 1 - the roll is 2.7m wide and the inner tent is 800mm or so. Just sayin'...

(I bought some for mine too)

Please include me for 3M if any new batches are done - not sure if that is still happening?

Thanks

Any idea what would make Tyvek do this? Beand new piece that spent two days in my pack and about 5 minutes under my tent before I decided I was sick of sliding around on top of it. Weird.

Strider do you scrunch then wash your Tyvek prior to using it ??

No I didn't. But I'd hardly call the above "using it"...

No idea why your Tyvek did that other than it is faulty,I subjected mine to a vigorous scrunching then a wash and it has performed as I expected ( mine is not the one with print ) could that be the problem with yours ??

Looks like its rubbed on something while rolled? I wonder if being wet had anything to do with it.

I put it under my tent, got inside, slid around too much. Got out and removed it and put back in my pack. No chance to test leakage.

I've always found it to slide against the silnylon floor on uneven ground.

No answer to your personal tent problem and I suspect in your situation no footprint would work  unless you siliconise the underside of your tent :?

Has anyone used Tyvek 1443R as a footprint? I have read recently that it is lighter and more breathable, but is slightly less water resistant and durable as the home wrap version used here.

Me..in fact its what I mostly use. I had a custom one made for my SL3 and I made a foot print out of it for another tent. Never had any probs with it and its much easier to pack/less bulky than the home wrap. That being said its probably not a robust from a sharp object. But seeing as its a back up to a tent floor I've never had an issue. Besides your tent floor should be waterproof..the tyvek is just another layer to help protect against something rough after all. I'll happily continue to use it.

Lady McG is indisposed for the short term workwise. Said to say that she will get back to it when she gets a chance (not sure how many are waiting).

A Scarp tent and tyvek sounds like a slippery combination?

No way you just need to" know how to fold it and know how to hold it then fold it again "" then scrunch it again , then wrench it hard b4 you wash it and caress it dry " and you will then have non crunchy nor slippery tyvek by and by :D
