I'd also love 2m if this is still active

I'm keen to buy 10m, apparently they only sell minimum of 20m lengths now. $4/m plus GST plus freight.

If someone wants to buy 10m and pay their share of the shipping, I'm keen to go ahead. Please pm me if you're interested in 10m of Tyvek 1443R...

Note, I am based in Southbank, Melbourne. Pickup only....

Cheers and hi y'all - First Post!

Hi Y'all!

I still have about 9.6m of Tyvek (the loud stuff) going for $7.63 per meter... I will note that it is also available in 30m rolls from Mitre 10... but you should definitely take it off my hands because we're moving to Queensland and I don't want to take it with us :D

Erm, FS VIC in Southbank.

Felix, are you still in Victoria, and if so, do you have any Tyvek left? I may be interested in buying some.

Hullo,

Just wondering if anyone has any tyvek available at the moment? I'm after the Homewrap version, not soft 1443r.

Otherwise I may have to order from ebay US.

Thanks,
redrock

Anybody know where to get a couple of metres in Brisbane?

I've just bought a TearTent, and similarly was looking for Tyvek groundsheet. I have found this ad on Gumtree (from Tasmania) that you might find useful:

Which one is recommended for tent footprints, the 1443r or the homewrap?

Not the cheapest option, but if its Backpacking Light in the CBD sell it by the meter if you get desperate.

Hi
I've ordered 30m roll of Tyvec Homewrap, 3048m wide ($229 from Mitre 10) = $7.64/m (will be available on 4 Jan)
I have a few metres left, so first to PM will get the last of the roll (minimum of 5m as I don't have time to endlessly cut & post small lengths)
* Pick up from Woodend, Sunshine or Ivanhoe or post (you pay)
* cheaper than buying 2m @ $19.95/m of 1.5m width from Backpacking Lite https://www.backpackinglight.com.au/tyvek-ground-sheet-per-metre.html and you can give what you don't need to friend/family or sell  off!
* It's heavier paper homewrap 10*** tyvek not lighter fabric 1433R tyvek.
* I think it's 2100 mm hydrostatic head/water resistance (see https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/412/) (In comparison Exped HL 20D ripstop nylon footprint is 1,500 mm water column & Exped 70D taffeta nylon footprint is 3,000 mm water column)
* Mitre 10 can't confirm which 10*** homewrap it is...(Franco said there were a couple of types of 10*** homewrap in AU, but can't find his post with chart)
Cheers

I tried to buy some a month or so ago and never heard back. I ended up just going through Ultralighthiker as Neo mentioned above.

I have bought 2 metres from backpackinglight, it arrived yesterday. It doesn't say on their website whether it is homewrap or 1443r. Only say that it is 43g per metre squared. Does anyone know what sort of tyvek I have purchased?

Weighed it, 1.5m by 2m is 135g.

Re: Tyvek by the metre for bushwalkers

Mon 15 Mar, 2021 7:56 pm

Tyvek 1443r is 43g/m2 and homewrap is 61g/m2 - so, since you have 3 m2 weighing 135g (= 43.73 g/m2), you have 1443r (it would seem).

Yeah Just around the corner from us. However for groundsheet use I do prefer something cheaper.

Anyone know where I could buy a roll either near Adelaide or Hobart? Alternatively what is the cheapest provider buying online and including shipping?
