I'm wondering if anybody has tried this?
DSC09481.jpg

A friend got some from a source that's no longer available. She has used some for maybe a year, with almost no deterioration. I might see if I can source some. My guess is that it's a more expensive, a tad heavier, but a lot more durable than Tyvek Homewrap. Has anyone actually compared them?

I've used the latter for some years, often rough camping. It seems to suffer particularly from being on coral fern, which tends to stick to it and tear away some fibres when I remove the bits that are stuck on it.

+1 for Monkey Puzzle - I gave them a call before ordering as my groundsheet needed to be slightly longer their regular size.

+1 for Monkey Puzzle - I sent an email with my phone number and got a prompt call back, had a friendly chat, paid via PayPal and now have my groundsheet 6 days later. :)

Hi - we have just come back from the Larapinta, where we used the Hardie Wrap - it was great, stood up to the dust better than the tyvek I think. Though, to be fair, our tyvek is about 10 years old! Hardie wrap is bulkier, but worked really well.

Thanks, Sandbars. Where did you get your Hardie Wrap from?

I think we got it from a friendly builder when we were asking around about tyvek offcuts! Sorry not that helpful.

No worries, Sandbars. I've been thinking of doing the same.

I have a rolled up piece of tyvek I bought off someone on here quite a while ago. It's been in the garage ever since and now I'm moving it has to go.

I don't remember exactly how big it is but I think it was 5m.

$40 pickup Footscray or Camberwell Melbourne.
Let me know if I'm asking too much for it. I don't remember how much I paid.

I have a roll of Tyvek in Penguin TAS for sale, I think there is 4m x 2.7m brand new unused.

Hi Daniel456, do you still have the 4x2 roll?
No reply from Daniel, so if anyone else has any Tyvek to sell please let me know.
Never used it but just got myself a light weight 3x3 tarp to try out and Tyvek would probably be the most suitable UL ground sheet to pair with it.
