Car camping mat

I'm in the market for a super comfortable car camping mat.

Narrowed down to the Exped Megamat Duo or the STS comfort DLX So double.

Anyone have either of these? Reccomndations?

Zempire Monstamat. Kids mates have commented sleeping overnight "that's the best bed I've ever slept on"
Fits nicely in the back on the Subi Outlander with the back seat down. I've used it a lot including Adaminaby overnight while snowing. Toast

Thanks Crollsurf,I saw those and the black wolf ones too but I think I'll stick with STSvor Exped. I'm leaning towards STS as the warranty is better and non of their gear has ever let me down.

How do you find the valve on the Zempire mat?

I have 2 single megamats which I put together for a queen size - absolutely wonderful just like a great bed at home - I’ve also got a double exped deep sleep again very comfortable- highly recommend them

Is this mat for using directly on the ground or will you be using a double cot frame?
If on the ground then I would be using a thick CCF pad for insulation and one of the bigger air mattresses such as the Intex with a 12V pump unless you have mains power

A question for those with the big self inflators :

Can they be stored compacted, or do they lose their ability to reinflate, like some of the lightweight self inflators. ?

The value rotates and is 100% airtight, sometimes I need a second look to make sure it's closed/open. It's self inflating, I leave it unrolled at home and goes in the car laid flat. It definitely doesn't pack down small when rolled up.

Straight onto the ground, no cots for me. The Megamat has an r value of around 10 so no problems insulation wise. STS is around 5 so good too.

The thick CCF is to protect the inflatable, they are all relatively fragile.
The big S2S SI mat is OK but for Cecile and I too small by far, so we bought separate mats. The large SI mats are a bit on the small side for comfortable car camping luxury, I'd like to see them 100mm wider and 100mm longer to fit better on the camp beds

Ended up going with the STS from wild earth via eBay. $386 for the double with a $30 off voucher. Couldn't resist.

If so I find my single quite comfortable; even when used on the ground but superb on a good stiff cot

Any updates after a couple of years use? Trying to decide between the Exped Megamat Duo ($464) and Zempire Monstamat Twin ($330). Exped seems a bit lighters/compact and has 5 year warranty compared to cheaper, heavier (but with thicker base material) and maybe more comfortable Monstamat.

I'll need a new mattress for The Boss as I've just bought her a swag tent by Oz-Tent and that's 995mm wide inside.
I've just looked at the Darche 900 wide All-Terrain mat.
Any feedback on it here?
