Looking for a 3P tent

Hi all,

I am after a 3P 3-season semi-lightweight tent (3kg should be fine). We are 2 and would like to have a bit of room, that's why a 3P tent.

I plan to use the tent for a bit of wild camping, so would like the fly of the tent to be green / brown-ish to merge with the landscape.

I have been looking for a while online, but don't seem to find many options. Until now, the only one that I have found out is the Marmot Tungsten 3P, which I can get in green.

Have you got any experiences / comments on the Tungsten 3P? Do you know any other 3P tent that comes in green (all tent manufacturers seem to make 3P tents in orange only)?

Appreciate your comments.

Cheers.

Alejandro

Appreciate the suggestion, cheers.

Took a look online and it seems very light (1.75kg), so I don’t know if that might impact its durability (like lighter materials / less durable materials).

What have been your brother experiences with the tent so far?

Cheers,

Alejandro

Most of the Vango range are green and have plenty of lightweight 3P options. My Helix is doing well, but hard to find now.

My brother doesn't really hike with it... he mainly uses it car camping with his wife.
So far, He loves it.

I recently purchased a 3 person Vango Pulsar 300 (in anthacite).

I bought it mainly for family-free car camping.

It is a tunnel tent (which I’m a fan) and online reviews are generous. I particularly liked how it has an oversize vestibule for cooking and storage and how it has a side door entrance for when it rains/snows.

Anthracite is also the new black so it seems, but it will be interesting to see how it goes in an Australian summer… It is also less likely to be as cheerful as my Macpac Olympus on the inside.

I’m also keen to take it on shorter walks and ski tours as it packs down quite small. Its (claimed) 3.7 kg weight is on the heftier side but is manageable, particularly if shared.

It’s yet to be properly tested, however, which I’ll do in due course.

Let us know what you decide.

Goodluck!

Thanks all for your message.

Think I will go for the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL 3 in Olive Green. Lightweight enough and appears pretty durable. Also it has good reviews online.

Cheers!

I have the same tent in orange.
It’s a great tent. Very spacious for two and even had my 40 kg pointer cowering in there during a storm.

Any pics of the 40kg pointer, that's either a big stick or a dog that likes big sticks
