Spinifex and kevlar?

I have some cheap gaiters .. and rather than buy a new pair just for a spinifex trip I wondered if some kevlar lining would do the job.
Anyone tried kevlar vs spinifex?

Sounds like overkill to me!

An alternative might be to just wear long pants - that seems to do the job. You can always go back to shorts once you’ve passed the spinifex.

Depends all on the weave, kevlar is typically not great at punctures and can also get fluffy.
Cordura would be just as good, I'd think. But I'm just guessing here, I've had a few kevlar product (cut gloves and sleeves) and the main advantage was that they wouldn't melt into your skin like nylon.... not an applicable feature.

One of the gaiter manufactures use canvas for spinifex... might be an option.

I think any type of canvas or breathable nylon gaiter will do the job.

If you dont think there will be much use after the spinifix trip just go with a cheaper pair.

MYO upgrade old gaiters im sure would work if you enjoy these type of projects. Kelvar might be hot/sweaty though.
