Single Person Tent Under $150

Bushwalking gear and paraphernalia. Electronic gadget topics (inc. GPS, PLB, chargers) belong in the 'Techno Babble' sub-forum.

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hey all, planning on doing the Heysen Trail and I’m in need of a small lightweight, waterproof tent for under $150 could anyone suggest what to look at getting?

You could put a Wanted To Buy post in the Market Square forum (?) and you never know someone that sees this thread might offer one.
A used one, in good order, could be a lot better value than a new one.

As mentioned market square is a good place for second hand.

Also have a look at 3F UL (chinese maker)

https://3fulgear.com/index.php/product- ... y/ul-tent/

They sell on aliexpress.

Quality, light, cheap...... pick any two

How about.....

Haven't seen one in person, but the specs look pretty good for the price. Maybe someone on here has personal experience with them.

Does it need to be a tent or a tarp and bug netting etc.? I wouldn't imagine there's too much rain on the Heysen.

I have an Integral Designs Sildome that is very light and minimalist and may suit your needs on the Heysen.

I thought they were discontinued after the takeover by RAB, but maybe not.

Mine is yellow, unmarked, and with very little exposure to UV.

Let me know what you think.

A Naturehike 1p tent will probably fit your budget.
