Walls of Jerusalem, gear advice (Sleeping bag)

Hi all,

I know we're deep in winter, but I'm dreaming/planning my trip to WoJ in either late Spring (Nov) or through the summer.

Would like to hear some peoples experiences/advice on what type of bag I should be taking. I'm a reasonably large male, will be sleeping in thermals and have a decent mat and tent.

Will a -1 or -2c bag be warm enough for that time of the year? Looking at sea to summit spark 3 (-2) or mont helium 300 (-1).

Any advice or recommendations would be hugely appreciated

You should be prepared for about -5 in Summer, I reckon. Chances are it won't get that low, but it happens often enough in summer (I've seen it snow there in the middle of the afternoon in Summer at least three times).

That doesn't necessarily mean that you need a -5 bag, but you would need to be prepared to supplement your bag (eg, by wearing a down jacket, thermals and warm trousers when sleeping, and without compressing the down too much to be ineffective).

Minus 2-5 is fine. Have a look at some of the Aegis Max lineup here too.
