I recently bought one and am super happy with it!

Has anybody else got one?

I just got the stove & charger and the kettlepot which you can store the charger and stove in. All in it weighs about 1.5kg.

Used it the other night and it was really great.

I carry a 10,000mAh pack from OfficeWorks for charging, and use metho or gas depending on my packing whim for cooking.

That's so cool.
I'd baulk at the 1.5 kg, but generating your own power sounds cool.
I have taken a solar panel charger that weighs a couple of 100 grams a few times (Overland and Northern circuit Prom) but that only works if the suns shining...

How quickly does it boil a cup of water?

Yeah, I know it is 1.5kg, but I've tried to get everything else as light in my pack as possible. I just need that morning coffee haha and some warm food. It generates a nice amount of heat too for those cold nights. It took about 3/4 minutes to boil hot water. It has a fan in it which you can turn up to help get the fire really going. I'm really happy with the fact I can charge my phone, the little light it comes with is great too.

Do you think you can use that in 'fuel-stove' only areas of national parks?
I love gadgets, and that is very tempting.

I have the first version.
There must have been a big improvement as I think the first version is really a bit of a gimmick, it doesn't provide enough current to charge my smart phone

AliExpress seems to have a knock-off (or rebranding) of the device, for the sameish price, but it's < 1kg.

You may find that devices that use “smart charging” (e.g. phones) don’t cope well with the varying inputs you are probably getting from the Biolite.
A better way is to charge a “dumb” device - such as a battery pack - from the Biolite and then use the battery pack to charge your other devices.

You only need a small battery pack to do this so not a lot of extra weight.

looks like the same stove but at a higher price. The weight of the Biolite is also listed at under 1kg (about 950g) the 1.5kg quoted here would include some accessories but I don't know what.

So I just went to Jaycar and bought myself a cheap powerbank, 10AH, $30-
If it gives me just 3 emergency charges on my phone it's worth it for Ceciles peace of mind
I'm taking the Biolite as a back up to the small solar panels
