I need a strong but affordable tarp to cover the 2022 base camp tent.
Anybody here had experience with the OzTrail camper fly?

Not sure I trust eyelets but I can easily add webbing loops
It's a little small but might work if it is strong enough.
I can't find any of the Mannagum large flys and they have gone out of business.

DD Hammocks make strong affordable tarps. Readily available too. I have the 3m x3m superlight but they make regular weight ones too and have a variety iof sizes. I often use mine as a group shelter on climbing trips. Weighs about 500g.

I have UL small tarps and MW small tarps but this one needs to be big enough to cover a 6m * 3m tent [ so about 6 * 8 m] and at a cost I can afford and DDs biggest tarp is too small and much more than I can afford. I'll need two of the large OzTrail sewn together to work.
I've tried the polytarps in the past and they are not strong enough in a weight I can carry or haul on a pulk
Only has to last one snow camp, if it survives the season I'll count myself as very lucky.

Definitely a cut above the usual cheap, light poly tarp. I did manage to get a complete winter plus a couple of weeks out of a permanently pitched cheap poly one year, but it was in a reasonably sheltered position. At that time there were two weights of such tarps available and this may have been the heavier. Approx 30' x 20'
I have a couple of smaller arktarps and they are well worth a look. The texture of my Arktarps appears as if it would shed snow better than woven poly.

If the others coming were contributing to the cost it would be no problem. I was going to buy another big polyester shade sail but as they come from China and are out of stock with no delivery date just a "Maybe never" from the big eBay seller I was looking for an alternative
