TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hi folks. I had a quick look through the forums but couldn't find any reference to this product.

It is pretty much what it says it is - a combination of a chlorine based disinfectant (Sodium Dichloro-s-triazinetrione dihydrate) and an unspecified floccing agent. The box contains 30 little sachets, each weighs about 1g and each of which can be used to treat 1 litre of water.

I scooped some water out of the gutters and gave it a try.

It seems to work. According to the instructions you still need to filter the water. Haven't been game to drink it though.

I've clogged filters before with muddy water so thought I might throw a few of these in with the first aid kit, for those times when the only water source is a muddy hole.

The choc part sounds OK, the Floor . . . not so much.

If chocolate falls on the floor, I'm still gonna eat it. Unless it's a pretty grubby floor.

Thanks for taking the time to make the post-pics and info Johnno. Nothing like doing your own testing.

Cheers Lamont. Hoping to do some proper field testing very soon. Just need to find a suitable muddy hole to camp next to.
