Hi,
I am off next weekend to camp on Mount Stirling. I have a Hilleberg Nallo with the standard pegs. Is it wise to get snow pegs?

Hi
Not an expert in the conditions to expect there but have used a Nallo in snow. The Nallo has four key pegs required to hold it up so I tend to take four snow pegs or use snow shoes, walking poles, etc instead. Actually much prefer to use snow pegs so have now fitted four long ones out the same way Hilleberg snow pegs are done. Also carry four long English made pegs always for soft sandy soil and they do a reasonable job but not ideal in snow. The standard pegs are good but in snow not brilliant. Pays to use the supplied rope attached to the pegs to loop around the guy ropes to avoid losing the pegs.
Cheers

I wish you luck in finding enough snow for the pegs to be an issue.
It's been Spring for the last five weeks. The snow is disappearing fast.
