One Planet Mini/Mini Plus harnesses

Hi everyone, long time reader, first time poster.

Firstly I am a long time fan of One Planet, owning far too many of their (free plug, excellently made) products for my own good.

My question to the class is about what experiences people have had with the mini and mini plus harnesses on their smaller packs, specifically to do with back length. I have a Mungo which I love to death, but I find I never use it's 65L capacity and recently purchased a 45L Umbra. I am 6" and wear the hipbelt on the Mungo probably a bit lower than designed as I find it is more comfortable that way, but I do not seem to be able to get a comfortable fit with the Umbra even with the harness at maximum extension (yes you can extend the shoulder straps from the bottom, but this allows the pack to fall further back at the shoulders).

Comments?

Haven't tried one myself but i guess it is not a surprise that a smaller bag has a smaller harness ...

If the back length cannot go any longer, your only option really is to length the should straps and shorten the should stabilizers/bit at the top to pull the bag closer to your back.

Have you tried it in the field? It might turn out to be ok?

I have not tried it in the field yet, but have loaded it up with 8 - 10kg and the effect is immediately noticeable (I loaded my Mungo with approxomately the same weight and swapped back and forth to ensure I wasn't imagining things. The Mungo just sits there comfortably balanced and the Umbra pulls you back).

The only problem with lengthening the bottom of the shoulder straps and tightening the stabiliser straps is that this means the angle of those stabilisers pull up rather than in, thus the top of the rucksack can fall further away from the shoulders.

Any 6" people used the Umbra in the field?
