Mountain House now able to be imported

Postby JohnM » Sun 17 Jul, 2011 8:12 pm

Those who use commercial freeze-dries may like to know that the US brand Mountain House can now be purchased online from the States.

IMO they're tastier than most, but for some reason they weren't allowed into oz. Not so anymore, as the 20 packs I got last week proves.

Chilli Mac is good, so is Mac Cheese and beef Stroganoff. Got some good vego stuff... Broccoli Potato and Cheese goes down well.

Warning: I don't like subtle flavours when in the bush.. These things are pretty, well, American in their taste profile: big. Probably too much salt, but most of these things do. I got mine from backcountry, but they're pretty common.

I think soon other website shops will be importing them to be sold here, not sure how much you would get off the priceing buying in bulk.

Would be nice to try them without getting them from the US my self.

Cheers for the info.
