Hi John,

No you can't recharge your with the link you put in, that is a rechargeable battery for a hunting flashlight..

You need something like this... [url]https://www.nitecorestore.com/Nitecore-NB5000-Power-Bank-p/bat-nite-nb5000.htm/url] or something like this [url]https://www.nitecorestore.com/Nitecore-NB10000-Power-Bank-p/bat-nite-nb10000.htm/url]

5000mah should recharge a smartphone completely once, 10000mah should completely recharge a phone at least twice..

10000mah will take longer to recharge than a 5000mah.

Cheers

Glen

Hi John,

I have a Power Traveller Extreme Tactical solar panel. Ace bit of kit. Comes with its own 12,000mAh power pack and recharges my phone, head torch, satphone, camera, even my iPad. Takes a long full day in sun to get charge from solar (as most do), but pretty durable too. I always know I can get power in an emergency though. I’ve used this all over the world for a few years now. Overall very pleased. Battery holds power well in the cold. Think I paid about $300 RRP, weighs about 500g for solar panel and included power pack.

Thanks HE
I am looking for an ultralite solution.
Say 100+ gms for the panel and 100+ gms for a Nitecore 5000 powerbank
So total weight less than 250 gms.

Hi John,

For an ultralight power bank, you have a couple of options:
1) The Nitecore MBP21 kit has a special version of the 21700 battery, and a magnetic clip-on that allows you to charge the battery, and use that as a power bank. The kit also comes with a clip-on lantern.
https://flashlight.nitecore.com/product ... terysystem

Battery = 73g
Powerbank adapter = 10.8g
Lantern adapter = 12.8g

You can get the kit from alliexpress for around AUD39, or other places for around AUD50-60.
I have one coming from Bangood
This is an Youtube review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aqwArEM9j8

2) Nitecore NPB1, which is a 21700 battery together with the powerbank circuit, 105g

For Super light solar panel, the Lixada Solar panel is 80g, rated at 10W but it is probably more like 3-4W. You can hang this on your backpack, I am not sure how effective it will be. Aliexpress has this for AUD20, you can also get that from other sources.

nCharger makes a good 11W solar panel, USD55, 198g
https://ncharger.com/products/11-watt-s ... -batteries

Powerfilm makes a combined powerbank + solar panel
https://www.powerfilmsolar.com/products ... ar-charger
USD120, 139g, but only 3200mAh

I used a power bank with solar hanging over the pack on my recent GOW hike and the performance wasn't too great. Got enough to add 5%-10% to my iPhone 12 each day. I think the movement and sun angle killed the efficiency.
