Waterproof iPhone cases

I've been looking for a more practical waterproof iPhone case. I had been using a flexible pouch with roll-top/velcro closure. This isn't very practical since it's quite difficult to read the display.
These two look quite good:

The case arrived. It's junk. The phone rattles around inside it. It's also rather bulky.

try the pelican case?
i have had / used many other pelican cases with no probs before - really strong...
(after looking at the picture in your link)... maybe you could copy the pelican case - with the foam inserts - perhaps a bit of foam door-draft insulation strip could make your box useful again?

Pelican products make/made diving gear - torches and the like. And damned good ones, too. I still have a large PP case for my underwater photo gear. Their stuff is as close to bombproof as you can get.

The new
LifeProof iPhone case looks impressive.
- protection to Military specifications for dust and water ingress
- waterproof to 2 metres
- shockproof
- slim fit
- 28 grams!

It looks ideal for bushwalking.
It's a case I could use everyday by the looks of it. I currently change cases depending on what I'm doing.
I'm going to register for a preorder.

Thanks for the link flatfoot. I have added my name to the pre-order list (for the 3GS case).

I bought that one too, but it's not great for daily use. I only use it at beach

Has anyone got one of these yet and if so what do you think of it.
I have been waiting for a while for them to be in use a bit first so some reviews could come out on them before buying one.
I know they did do an upgrade on their original design so am wanting one but just holding off for a bit first.

Hi
Very interested in real peoples experiences. Sales blub sounds good but any reason to or not to buy it from proud or not so proud owners?
Cheers

I just don't bother too much anymore. I generally carry my iPhone in my top shirt pocket or in the chest pocket of my goretex jacket.
I carry one of those waterproof pouches and only use it if conditions get really bad. I sometimes use this pouch when cycling. I've had torrential rain on the Milford and Overland tracks and my phone was fine in my goretex jacket. I like to keep it handy for photos.
I did partly dunk my iPhone 4 once (after slipping when crossing a creek) and it almost died. After pulling the pack cover off and drying it out it was fine. On that same occasion I dunked my camera and I ultimately had to buy a new camera.

Burying in a bag of rice overnight is a good remedy for wet phones

I've just bought one of these
http://store.griffintechnology.com/ipho ... s/survivorPicked it up in a JB Hifi (stocked item).
Looks the goods. Don't know about it's water-proof-ability, but my intention was to get a case that can take a few knocks. I know the phone will eventually get dropped and want to protect it at least a bit.
So far I'm happy with this case.

Old topic so maybe Flatfoot can comment. I have one of these but not long enough. There are a bunch of positive reviews though.
