Congrats Michael on your winning entry. There are some great images in this selection - I really liked the West MacDonnell Range image too.

Yeah congrats photohiker.
I love the warm glow on the horizon, and the stars look awesome.
It's still a bit weird seeing chair lifts in a place like that. I'm more used to the untouched mts of tassie (ben lomond excepted). Wherever there is heaps of snow I almost expect some remote place..

Actually going skiing after doing lots of bushwalking is an interesting experience. I was at Perisher this winter, so being able to drive up the Mt and then ride a chair up to heights and views which normally take hours/days to reach when bushwalking made me wonder if I was appreciating it enough..

Anway, i love the rest of the photos. although that last one just makes me feel cold inside :D

Nick, I know what you mean, chairlifts are definitely cheating. :)

There's a bit of a story to go with the shot, and a couple more that are worth looking at, I'll put them in a new thread soon. I didn't want to show my hand before the voting finished.
