On the drive up to the Florentine there was an incredibly blue pond of water just out of Maydena, and before the bridge over the Tyenna creek.

Does anyone know if it comes out of a spring or similar?

It looks like the water you see coming out of limestone caves.

From your map it looks like you are at the Junee Caves to me so I would imagine that this water would be rising from a spring somewhere in that limestone cave system.
The clarity of the water is perfect for checking out all the fish and other little critters who live in there.

Yep - the whole area is underlain by a massive cave system. I was told recently that a well-known mineral water purveyor sends a tanker down that way regularly to collect ... um, mineral water!

cheers
