Haven't been this way in 10 years or so but I'm not sure about the "keeping to the high ground" statement. That route undulates... quite frankly it's
all high ground and easy to lose the route, especially when clagged in. If you're skilled with nav you shouldn't have any problem but don't rely on being able to stick to the route.

Agree. In via Mackenzie & Blue Peaks is one of the more scenic approaches as well.
