Postby LeftRightShoot » Mon 21 Sep, 2020 7:35 pm

Gday,

Anyone having issues with WMS layers from LIST? Mine hasn't been rendering for a few days. :-\

G'day LRS, they are working ok for me at the moment on QGIS.

What GIS platform are you using and which layers in particular are not rendering>
You haven't connected/disconnected recently from a VPN or similar remote network?....I've noticed if I'm connected to work servers via a VPN the WMS layers wont load until I disconnect the remote connection and restart the program.

cheers

Sure they're not cached? Im using Locus maps (android), MOBAC (win 10) and even mapviewer.org wont display them:

Try the WMTS instead

Code: Select all

Only supports wms I'm afraid. Has been working for at least a year.

No they are not cached. I Just tried adding the WMS Tasmap basemap URL that you linked above, and that is working in QGIS. I don't know why its not working in mapviewer.org (also tried and failed), but it is working in arcgis.com
Sorry not familiar with Locus maps, so cant really help with that one.

Cheers. Locus map is my primary in the field mapping tool. It only supports wms. I use mobac to produce an "ok" quality tassie layer for times when I've got no signal. This had been working for quite some time and stopped a few days ago.

LIST did change from http to https some time ago - maybe the old service has finally been turned off. There were also WMS and TLS Security changes in July.

Alas I dont have any android devices to help further.

And the answer (probably) from LIST:

"The way Web Mapping Services (WMS) are referenced in the LIST web services has changed recently.
WMS Services were previously referenced by ‘Layer ID’ number; this was changed to use the ‘Layer Name’. "
