Tarkine Coast

Postby brodme » Thu 24 Sep, 2020 9:51 pm

Hi everyone, planning a trip to the Tarkine Coast next month, intending on spending 3-4 days, heading from Pieman Heads to the area around Interview or Lagoon River and back. It'll be our first trip to the area and wondering if there are likely to be any challenges with river crossings at this time of year, or any general trip notes / reports that could help with planning a short trip out there.

If you don't already have a copy of Phil Pullinger's Tarkine Trails, I would suggest you get one. It has adequate notes for the whole track from Hardwicke Pt to Temma (and a great deal more).
The Interview is the first major crossing, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting that far. The creeks to its south are not usually an issue.

A 3-4 day trip would be well spent going as far as The Interview for a Cpl nights with a day exploring north to Chimney or Monster.
