Gliders

Hi all. I came across this little gem last week. Very exciting to see such extensive footage of the South-West in the eighties, and especially with Deny King in one of the leading roles. I think this is the only video featuring Deny on the internet, I hope someone can prove me wrong :)
The documentary is about a couple of guys with hanggliders who want to jump off Federation Peak. Deny takes them by boat, accompanied by a wildlife photographer and an elderly lady. They walk to Federation Peak, make it to somewhere close to the summit, and one of the guys jumps off with his glider.
It would be interesting to know what route they took. It's not really clear in the video. Maybe someone can shed some light on this?
Anyway, it's a great watch. Enjoy.

Wow!! What a classic film. Gotta love the pioneering spirit of people setting out to do things that havent been done before.
And to have a some Southwest bushwalking royalty thrown in just made it so much more interesting.
Thanks so much for posting that Guido. Much appreciated.

( I wonder how much of a run it got on television back in the day.........?? ).

Oops yes, thanks tastrax, that is my channel... That bit was taken from a Jack Absalom special about the west of Tasmania.

Since there have been many film crews visiting Deny, I was hoping that someone could point me in the direction of some more documentaries or interviews.

Cheers GG

PS My pleasure Al.
