Paddy Hartnett Track status

Postby Tortoise » Sun 28 Mar, 2021 4:38 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows the current state of the 'track' from Lees Paddocks to the OLT near Kia Ora. It's been a few years since I went down it. Wondering if it's easier or harder to follow these days. Ta.

Pretty good Tortoise, tho you can't cross the creeks if they are high.
One of my favourite trips

Just saw this thread.I walked through there about a year ago, camped at southern end of Lees Paddocks and went through the Paddy Hartnett track to climb Falling Mountain as a day walk and visit all the falls.Walked back through that track in the dark and was surprised how good it was, really good pad the whole way and the odd tapes where you need them.Hardest part is at the paddocks end,the first 100m or so is a bit vague.
