IMO the big difference is the weather (and the approach), as all mountain that don't require rope and anchors, are of similar low technical grade. On Barney the weather is predictable and benign most of the time. Short Leaning ridge can be done without camping out, with a light pack, in a day. Fedder, by the time you are tackling the exposed crux, you have already carried a big pack through the mud trench of Farmhouse creek and the vertical maze of Moss ridge. If weather is good, you'll need at least 3 big days. I think if FP was one of Barney peaks, it would have the same difficulty that some of its well trodden ridges.
