Federation peak vs Mt Barney

Would really like to do federation peak sometime in the future. I am from Brisbane and have done many ascents of Mt Barney. Just wondering if anyone has done both fed peak and Barney, and can offer a comparison for technical difficulty?

There are some interesting accounts of Feder ascents on utube.
From what i've seen, it is not necessarily more technical on Feder. I think you should be careful not to confuse exposure with technical difficulty.
One particular difference is that there is a distinct absence of vegetation on Feder in comparison to Barney.

I would judge FP to be about the same as Short Leaning (not counting the bit from the top of SL down to the saddle).

IMO the big difference is the weather (and the approach), as all mountain that don't require rope and anchors, are of similar low technical grade. On Barney the weather is predictable and benign most of the time. Short Leaning ridge can be done without camping out, with a light pack, in a day. Fedder, by the time you are tackling the exposed crux, you have already carried a big pack through the mud trench of Farmhouse creek and the vertical maze of Moss ridge. If weather is good, you'll need at least 3 big days. I think if FP was one of Barney peaks, it would have the same difficulty that some of its well trodden ridges.

Barney is an unknown to me, but there is sod-all technical about the ascent of Fedders. It's the exposure that gives people trouble.

The technical bit is actually getting in such a position as you are able to attempt the final ascent.
Unfavourable weather + eroded moss ridge + difficulty and length of approach walk + covid restrictions.
