Mt Anne from Sandfly Creek

Postby MulgaBill » Mon 14 Feb, 2022 9:54 am

Wondering if Mt Anne is still accessible from Sandfly Creek. Looking at doing the circuit crossing over to Condominium.
Any advice or feedback on Sandfly Track condition appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Haven't been in recently myself, but caving mates do it fairly regularly and say it's much the same as ever.

Thanks NNW. Presume you mean heavily overgrown and a bit of a scrub bash?

Boggy and braided on the flats, a bit vague in the lower reaches of the forest, maybe a bit overgrown through the scrub onto the ridge. It's actually not a bad track (by SW Tassie standards).

Take care with the forest tapes, there is more than one set. It sort of helps to pick a colour and chase that.

Thanks for the heads up. Managed to find this '2011' walk report which also gives an indication of what one should/could expect:
