Looks like some big problems today with the new overland track bookings system. It was already delayed a week, and now it's been taken offline completely again.
A bit of a dog's brekky. I saw an email response saying there were abt 1500 people affected, and the mention of double bookings. Which does suggest most will get a spot. Their month, if not their day. Maybe not Xmas > January, always a mad scramble for the school breaks.
The old booking system wasn't the best, but it would seem not enough testing was done on the new system. I pity the Parks people having to wade through all the emails and book everyone manually.
This makes me the first man to climb Mount Everest backwards, without oxygen...or even a jumper.
Yes, i'm sure there were lot's of frustrated people. It's ironic given the inevitable perspective the walk will impose. For the most stressed (no association and just as a suggestion), there are always the guided camping tour options, who also book in on a separate system. Much stress avoided..
