While doing a bit of stuffing around by the Tyenna River recently, I found something odd on the far side of the creek beside the parking and picnic grounds.
There's a series of trees taped and marked with numbers. Markers look oldish. The surviving tape is not recent. I though at first it could be an old boundary, but the line goes up and down and zig-zags all over the place. The most logical explanation I can think of is an old nature trail, but I don't recall anything of that sort from our old school trips down there (OK, they were more than 50 years ago, but still).
The lowest number I could find was 17, which was just part a bit of flood damage; the highest was 85, smack bang between two good fords.
Anyone have any info?
