Bushwalk Australia

I’m hoping someone can help me with first hand experience. I am looking to take our vizsla to Tasmania in a few months. Ideally I’d like to go on a multi-day bushwalk with her, preferably with no facilities and walk only access. Backpack, tent, etc. I know she’s not allowed in National Parks and I know there are a few conservation areas where she will be allowed. However, I’m looking for an extended hike somewhere if possible. Anyone have any specific ideas? Thanks.

Generally speaking most of the Conservation Areas and Regional Reserves are off-limits to dogs/cats/domestic pets for the same good reasons as they are for National Parks. Certainly, none of the 'usual' multiday walking routes qualify.

You could probably string together a good multiday coastal route in either the Arthur-Pieman or Waterhouse Conservation Areas. Though I'd question the appropriateness of taking a dog through beaches/dunes and potential seabird breeding areas, even if it isn't specifically against the rules.

You can take dogs through the whole Central Plateau Conservation Area. It’s a massive area but you need good navigational skills.
You have to ring the local field centre and get a permit though.

Kingston Beach would be a spectacular place to walk a dog! Even link it up with Blackmans Bay
