Lift to Scott's Peak Damn from Hobart (Jan 23rd)

Wed 17 Jan, 2024 4:10 pm

Hi all,

Visiting Tasmania from Scotland - been exploring the island climbing and walking the last few weeks absolutely loving it.

Have had the Arthurs traverse on my radar for the last couple months and looking for a potential lift to Scott's Peak Damn/ campsite at beginning of walk if anyone is heading that way on or around the 23rd of Jan. Happy to cover fuel and whatnot.

Tas Wilderness Experiences looking sparse in terms of booking and not dead keen on paying the fare of 4 people to get there. If there's a group of you looking to book with them would be good to coincide potentially.

Thanks in advance!

I may be able to help. Have unfinished business down that way and should be heading down next week.

Seen the forecast winds for that area for Wed to Friday next week? I wouldn't want to be around High Moor when it hits.

80-110 km/h winds at altitude, you might want to reconsider.
Edit: forecast has been scaled down a bit, but still very strong winds up to 80 km/h.
