Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct location for this but I am hoping someone can recommend good brands of dehydrated meals (and where to buy them) in the UK. I am trekking in Italy but going via the UK and I don't want to carry my meals from Australia (I usually eat backcountry cuisine and find it more than acceptable) as I will be pushed for weight (I am offloading stuff in the UK).
Alternatively, does anyone know of availability in Innsbruck?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Whereabouts in Italy are you walking?
I can't help with your specific question, but I have spent long periods in mountain areas in Europe, and I have never taken pre-prepared dehydrated meals. (But then neither have I ever done so in Australia.)

I live in the UK and always bring all my food for the first 1-2 weeks from home, wherever I go hiking.
You may or may not like my choice of food, but I usually buy the Batchelors Pasta n Sauce meals for dinner. They may not be as tasty as the "real" trekking food like Mountain House etc, but they pack much smaller and lighter for the calories they offer. So I can cover much longer distances without resupply.
Furtermore, they are much cheaper. For example, my favourite Chicken & Mushroom is 99 grams/ 418 kcal and I buy them for £0,50 per pack at ASDA. I need two packs for one meal (836 kcal). Every major supermarket has them, but prices can vary from £0,50 to £1,05 for a 99 grams package. I also usually carry some extra plain dry pasta, so I can add a bit extra to the pasta n sauce if I'm very hungry.
For snacks and breakfast I usually make a trail mix of unsalted peanuts, raisins and chocolate (usually M&M's, because they don't melt so easy in the heat).
