It could be Feather. My examination of the relevant maps doesn't show anything else that even comes close to lining up.
Not Oana. Right general area, but still some distance off.
The spot itself doesn't have a name, but it's within roughly 1km of three things that do have names.

Here goes then..
The "waterfall" does not show on any maps - but I think it may be in the state aerial photo in the LIST - on the steep face a bit north from Eagle Lake.
I suspect it would rarely have water in it.
I think there is also water in view through the trees and that would be Lake Malbena.
A zoom in using the aerial image - and ringing the bits I think align with the photo.
So maybe it was from a few metres north west of my marker point.

It's possible NNW has found herself in a different universe. Perhaps Eggs or someone else should post.

Yeh I believe like many of us this week she's taken advantage of this weather and took off for a walk.

Anyone can post next then.

Close enough. Maybe we should always insist on that sort of answer.

And apologies. Forgot to organise a proxy when I nipped out for a walk.

I think you are on Little Sugarloaf looking at Goulds Sugarloaf with the Cheyne Range, Mt Hugel and Mt Rufus in the LH background. Your gps coordinates would be approximately 167431

I believe the cairn marks the top of the Little Sugarloaf.
But I am not going to check the coord reference.

I wouldn't, it's an estimate only. Next, apologies for the quality of the photo.

Not much to work with here regardless of quality (which seems ok to me incidently)
Random guess at the mountain profile, Tor or Black bluff?
Sun 22 Dec, 2019 12:22 pm
I see the similarity but wrong end of the state
Sun 22 Dec, 2019 9:21 pm
Looking at Collins Bonnet?
Sun 22 Dec, 2019 9:33 pm
Yes, but "where am I". Coordinates not required
Sun 22 Dec, 2019 10:22 pm
Chapel Fire Trail?
Mon 23 Dec, 2019 12:18 am
No, that would be in the picture
Mon 23 Dec, 2019 3:22 pm
Mt Direction?
Mon 23 Dec, 2019 6:29 pm
too far north
Mon 23 Dec, 2019 10:12 pm
Below Tom Thumb?
Mon 23 Dec, 2019 11:41 pm
Mt Direction was much closer. Tom Thumb is just out of shot
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 7:41 am
The angle looks as though you are on high ground, so it's gotta be somewhere in the Meehan Range? Rocky Tom?
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 8:33 am
The angle is deceptive then. I make the altitude to be about 30m. Mt Direction was closer

Shot in the dark - near Cleburne Point?
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 11:38 am
Closest so far John. Wrong side of the river
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 12:05 pm
Another equally WAG, I pretty much only know the Brooker Hwy through those parts - the open area in Rothesay Circle, Goodwood?
I'm assuming Queens Domain et al is too far south.
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 12:22 pm
You've given 2 corners of an roughly equal triangle. Try the 3rd.
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 12:57 pm
Mmm, hard to find an elevation low enough - bottom end of Knights Creek Trail?
Tue 24 Dec, 2019 1:14 pm
Much closer before. the 2 corners I was referring to were the open area in Rothesay Circle, Goodwood and near Cleburne Point. This was an urban walk.

Sorry, away entertaining 4 y.o. granddaughter. If I eventually get this one it can be my Christmas present to myself. I remember on a visit years ago absent mindedly wandering up on kunanyi and missing a turn off, ending up well down the mountain towards Lenah Valley before the "this doesn't look right" light bulb went on. So, depending on where I measure from Queens Domain I'm getting somewhere near the Lady Franklin Gallery/Ancanthe Park in Lenah Valley, which looks just inside the urban fringe.

Wrong direction John. You were about 2 km off with both your Rothesay Circle, Goodwood and near Cleburne Point guesses.
